Security Risk Assessments

Understand the Risk. Strengthen the Plan.

Alta Vista evaluates properties, operations, procedures, and existing security measures to identify vulnerabilities and provide practical, prioritized recommendations.

A Practical View of Your Security Environment

A security risk assessment provides decision-makers with a clearer understanding of potential vulnerabilities, operational concerns, and gaps in existing protective measures. The objective is to support informed planning—not to create unnecessary fear or recommend solutions that do not fit the property.

Areas We May Evaluate

  • Property layout and surrounding environment
  • Entrances, exits and access points
  • Perimeter security
  • Parking areas and exterior lighting
  • Visitor and contractor management
  • Employee access procedures
  • Security staffing and post responsibilities
  • Patrol procedures
  • Key and credential control
  • Camera coverage and monitoring practices
  • Incident reporting and documentation
  • Emergency communication and escalation
  • Opening and closing procedures
  • Existing policies and post orders
  • Known incidents and recurring concerns

The assessment scope is customized for each property and engagement.

How We Conduct Each Assessment

01

Initial Consultation

We identify the property, operational concerns, assessment objectives, available records, and appropriate scope.

02

Site Evaluation

We examine relevant areas, observe operations, review existing measures, and speak with authorized personnel when appropriate.

03

Analysis and Prioritization

Identified concerns are evaluated according to factors such as likelihood, potential impact, existing controls, urgency, and practicality.

04

Written Report and Review

The client receives organized findings and prioritized recommendations, followed by a review of the report and possible next steps.

What the Client Receives

  • Executive summary
  • Defined assessment scope
  • Documented observations
  • Identified vulnerabilities and concerns
  • Supporting photographs when authorized
  • Prioritized recommendations
  • Suggested implementation sequence
  • Report-review meeting

Assessment Independence

Recommendations are based on the conditions observed and the approved scope of work. Clients may implement recommendations through Alta Vista, internal resources, or other qualified providers. An assessment does not require the purchase of ongoing security services.
